The meta-analysis was carried out on data from 5 databases, and estimated the worldwide incidence of cardiovascular disease associated with polycystic ovary syndrome. The risk of cardiovascular disease was increased in women with polycystic ovary syndrome, across all age groups. The number of cardiovascular diseases associated with this syndrome was estimated to have risen from 102,530 to 235,560 worldwide. The regions most affected were East Asia and the Pacific in 2019.
