Telerehabilitation for shoulder disorders
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
In this systematic literature review and meta-analysis, researchers quantitatively compared telerehabilitation and home exercise in patients with shoulder disorders. A total of 7 studies, including 508 participants, were included. Compared with home exercise, telerehabilitation showed superior improvements in range of motion (flexion, abduction, external rotation, internal rotation), shoulder functionality and patient quality of life. On the other hand, both types of intervention had similar results in terms of pain relief. However, the continuation of telerehabilitation for a period longer than 12 weeks resulted in significant pain relief.
