Advances in research on the epidemiology, burden, and comorbidities of AD have transformed the understanding of the course of AD, including risk factors, age of onset, disease severity and persistence, and health outcomes. Clinicians may be unaware of the epidemiology of AD for appropriate risk stratification, patient education, and therapeutic decision making.
