SAFIR (Society of the French Association of Implants and Refractive Surgery) is a learned society created in 1998, and dedicated to cataract surgery and all refractive surgery techniques. During its annual congress held in May, the communications presented in the form of short talks, are grouped into sessions and round tables to cover all the news of cataract surgery and refractive surgeries. A poster exhibition and a video session complete the meeting program. Access to the congress is reserved for members, with a fee for "senior" ophthalmologists, but free of charge for interns and clinical directors.
